A Poem Featuring an Old Novelty: Candy Cigarette

Remember these? Candy cigarettes. Guess it would blasphemy to sell these in the stores nowadays, within reach of kids’ reach in the candy section. They were still fun- but why?

It was like you were a candy cigarette.

You had me thinking

as if I were 7 years old all over again,

that having you on my lips

was cool,

was chic

You had me thinking stupid!

How I was such a pretender with you!
