On Point: A Guide on Dana Point, California

  • Book a flight to Orange County to get here (SNA)
  • Find luxurious or low cost Lodging in Dana Point
  • Rent a car to drive to Dana Point.

Dana is one of the most charming neighborhoods in all of Orange county. She’s loves the water. Marina goers head to her Harbor area to stroll, sail, sip and savor. Beach lovers, especially surfers, hit the waves at locally-famed Salt Creek.

What’s SUP with Dana?

Stand up paddling– that’s what’s up and and happening on the low shore

What else besides the water?

Dana is …

super friendly. People on the streets often say ” hello “, which is not the most typical occurrence in other southern California neighborhoods.

luxurious. Dana is home to an oceanfront Ritz Carlton, arguably the most scenic property in southern CA. Also, 5 star property. Rooms typically about $500/night

Where to eat and drink- the Harbor area:

Wind & Sea– highly rated

Harbor Deli and Slice– A quickie but goodie place to get some grub before or after cruising . Sandwiches are filling and the accompanied pickles are the real “dill!. Large cheesy pizza slices are available, as well as an assortment of super tempting desserts.

Coffee Importers–  my fave. Skip Starbucks for this marina adjacent café. Not just the java here-but also healthy juices and smoothies plus bagels, sandwiches and acai bowls.

Take away: Dana is delightful!
